The most gorgeous fitout with flowers adorning the food, walls and ceilings. Is it as good as it looks?
I love pretty cafes and florals and I could not wait to visit the newly opened Social Hideout in Waterloo. The location is in a pretty quiet street in a new residential area and we were able to find street parking directly in front of the cafe. I took two of my kids and my friend had her daughter with her also. We came prepared with colouring books and stickers for the kids.
The photo opportunities begin before you even set foot inside the cafe. Outside you will find the already famous 'Guess where I am?' neon sign complete with retro bike and floral accents. Once you step inside, the instagrammable moments are endless with floral walls, ceilings, neon lights, beautiful mural walls
We ordered our meals and began taking photos. Every other patron is there for the photo opps too so it wasn't awkward at all setting up an impromptu photoshoot in the middle of a cafe. Then the food arrived and we were all in awe! Every element was so well thought through, colour coordinated and delicately placed.

The taro hotcakes were deliciously decadent, the smashed avo with poached eggs was delightful and the coffee was on point. The highlight for me though is definitely the cafe itself, rather than the food. Food options were limited to only what was on the menu with no variation, even for the kids. Luckily there is a McDonalds on the same block so the kids were thrilled with Drive Thru on the way home. All in all, a successful morning and I will definitely be back.. maybe without the kids next time!
